Can you find God through good communication? Developing good communication is often thought of as learning a set of skills. Yet is it that simple? Communication problems are often seen at the core of many of society’s ills. It’s the number one reason couples seek marriage counseling, it is foundational in family conflict, and it is evident in the lack of discourse in our political landscape.
In this workshop, we’ll explore the emotional barriers that betray our attempts at real communication. We’ll delve into the brain to see how it’s wired for connection but can keep us mired in conflict. Most importantly, you will learn a dialogue practice, often called a relational meditation, designed to promote safety and connection. In order effectively dialogue, however, you must learn how to go inward, strip away the ego, and come from a place of genuine vulnerability – just what a contemplative lifestyle calls us to do.
Come to the workshop where contemplation meets communication. Take away a practice to benefit your marriage, your ministry or any relationship in your life.
